M930 Swinging a Mass on a Spring



Description: This mass will undergo two types of oscillations. The first is a pendulum-like motion (see M900) and the second is the motion of a mass hanging on a spring (see M940). These two oscillations affect each other because the length of the pendulum changes as the spring contracts or relaxes and the centripetal force of the swinging mass increases the force applied to the spring.
